Catherine McAuley Catholic Primary School will receive $2,551,547 and Orange Anglican Grammar School will be allocated $550,000 under the NSW government’s building grants assistance scheme.
Catherine McAuley will use their funding for the construction and refurbishment of a general learning area and staff facilities, while Orange Anglican Grammar School will spend their funding on the construction of six learning areas with appropriate storage and withdrawal spaces.
The total spend of the project at Catherine McAuley is $3,645,067 and $1,224,159 for the project at Orange Anglican Grammar.
The remainder of both projects will be funded by the school community.
Only $11.25 million in funding was allocated across the state, and just over $3,000,000 was given to schools in Orange.
The application process is competitive and the fund heavily over-subscribed.
Well done to both schools.
I look forward to seeing these important infrastructure projects once they are complete.
THIS week Molong and district farewelled a much-loved and respected personality with the passing of Anne Marie Ingham.
Besides being a highly talented designer and author, Anne Marie was the artist behind the unique portrait gallery at Molong RSL Club of local men and women who have served Australia in times of war.
She will be greatly missed.
I’M encouraging parents to visit the NSW government’s new road safety website, Safety Town, and have the conversation with their children about the dangers of roads, footpaths and driveways.
The road safety program has been launched with the help of Australian of the Year Adam Goodes and is the first time any program has addressed the issue of kids being distracted when they're in the vicinity of roads and cars.
It’s also the first time a road safety curriculum, developed for our 2600 schools, including those within Orange, is online and interactive.
The program will be rolled out in schools from next term, but in the meantime I’d encourage people to visit safetytown.com.au.
