Ada's been working hard to ramp it up for Big Air School's welcome return

ORANGE skater girl Ada Gilbody-Esterbauer is preparing for Big Air School’s return to John Lomas Skate Park in Moulder Park on Saturday.

During last year’s event the eight-year-old impressed the touring professionals so much so that she was awarded a new skateboard for her efforts.

Big Air School principal Jemima Key has fond memories of Ada’s excellent attitude on the day, saying “she absolutely killed it”.

“Since then I’ve seen footage of her dropping in to the big bowl [at the skate park] and practising really hard,” she said.

And she will be riding her heart out with the support of her mother, and biggest fan Diana, who seems just as excited.

“Ada has been looking forward to Saturday ever since their last visit,” Ms Gilbody-Esterbauer said.

“All of the kids think it’s just so fantastic.”

Orange is the first stop for the 2014 Rolling Tour and Big Air School’s fourth visit to Moulder Park .

Today’s event will introduce riders to the new, expanded, Big Air School team and allow them to ride and learn from the best.

Big Air School events offer youths a unique opportunity to experience action sports with high-profile and sponsored riders to promote an active lifestyle, thanks to Academy BMX and Orange City Council.

Today’s event will host far more than just riding. DJ Don’s Rave Cave will be up and running for all those who like their action sports served with a beat and breakdancing.

As always, there will be impressive demonstrations by the Big Air crew and a competition with some great prizes to be won.

The Big Air School will go on despite the rain but if anything changes their Facebook page will be updated.  See facebook.com/bigairschool to find out or contribute to competition formats.

Entry is free. All that is needed to participate is a helmet and signed waiver.

The event kicks off at 12pm at the skate park.
