Discount Drug Store professional services manager Casey Clark encouraged more people to arm themselves against the debilitating virus.
“Due to time, or the belief that they won’t come down with the illness, people may not be as proactive about protecting themselves against influenza as they should be,” she said.
“The vaccination consultation only takes five minutes, and doesn’t require a prescription.”
The vaccination clinic will be held from 9am to 2pm.
“The vaccination will only take about 20 minutes out of your day, compared to being incapacitated for up to a fortnight if you come down with the flu virus,” Ms Clark said.
All vaccinations will be administered by a qualified immunisation nurse, who will also carry out a 15-minute observation period following immunisation.
Last year, 12 per cent of influenza cases resulted in hospital admissions, according to the Department of Health.
