CYMS third grade captain Gerard Hannelly believes his green and golds outfit must find another gear to keep its unbeaten record against 2013-14 minor premiers Orange City in tact.

Since the lower grade competition split after Christmas, CYMS have recorded four-wicket and 73-run wins over the Warriors, despite the latter finishing higher on the ladder.

Even before the split, CYMS enjoyed the wood over their opponents, notching up a huge eight-wicket victory.

Hannelly said it was his side’s bowling that has troubled City in their three meetings this season, and was confident the ball will again be a factor. 

“I think so. We had a couple of guys deem to be ineligible by the ODCA but we still have a number of good bowlers. Andrew Borschtsch, Matt Winsland, Nadsie (Ashraf) picked up four for us last week,” he said.

City skipper Jason Beasley believes consistency is the key for his Warriors line-up.

That, and the form of Jason Corby.

The all-rounder has scored 372 runs and taken 26 wickets in 2013-14.

“He’s the second leading run scorer and the second leading wicket taker in the competition,” he said.

Saturday’s game, set to start at 1pm, has been moved to Moulder Park.
