DESPITE losing just three games all season, Orange District Cricket Association second grade minor premiers Orange City head into today’s grand final against Wanderers underdogs.

Having played each other three times this season in red-ball cricket, Wanderers have got the chocolates twice, and the Warriors once.
“They’ve had the wood on us a bit,” Orange City skipper Steve Sharp said.
“But we love the underdog tag, we play our best cricket under pressure. We showed that in the Twenty20 final, which we beat Wanderers in.”
This is the Warriors’ seventh consecutive grand final appearance, and Sharp said his team’s experience puts them in good stead.
“You don’t play so many finals and not learn a bit about how to win,” he explained.
Wanderers skipper Darryl Kennewell, a former Warrior, embraced his team’s favouritism.
“I think we are favourites, definitely,” he said.
“I’d love to get a win, to show Orange that Wanderers aren’t just a pub side.”
Wanderers take on Orange City at Riawena Oval, with Max Stewart Oval as an alternative, from 1pm on Saturday and 11am on SUnday.
