Council spokesman Allan Reeder expects the work to take one day to complete.
“The 25-metre indoor pool and the 50-metre outdoor pool will be open for swimming as usual tomorrow,” he said.
“Apart from the toddlers’ pool, the shallowest pool in the Orange Aquatic Centre is the outdoor pool, which is about 1.2 metres deep at one end.”
Mr Reeder said the old switchboard pre-dated the new Aquatic Centre and now handled extra functions.
The new switchboard will cost $12,000 to install.
“With temperatures in Orange starting drop, regular swimmers are also reminded that the outdoor pool will soon be closing for the winter,” Mr Reeder said.
“Hardy swimmers will be able to have their last outdoor swim on Sunday, April 6, when the pool will close at the end of the day.”
The centre’s indoor pools will be open as usual throughout the winter months.
