Along the way the cyclists, who are riding to support the McGrath Foundation and Beyond Blue will pass through places which include Nerriga, Windellama, Young, Crookwell, Boorowa, Bribbaree, Caragabal, Forbes, Bogan Gate and Parkes.
After the gruelling ride, the participants are expected to ride in to Manildra to be welcomed by the cheers of supporters on Friday.
Ride organiser and director of MSM Milling in Manildra, Pete Mac Smith says the goal this year is to raise $100,000 to be split between the two nominated charities.
“We’re fortunate we have secured the support of some major sponsors to help make this ride possible,” Mr Mac Smith said.
“Their corporate support means we can keep costs low and concentrate on maximising our fundraising efforts for our chosen charities,” he said.
This is the third year of the ride, building on the success of the two previous rides.
“This is the third year we have raised funds for the McGrath Foundation which does a tremendous job helping those affected by breast cancer and their families - especially those living in regional areas,” Mr Mac Smith said.
“The money we raise helps support breast care nurses who provide vital local support to women with breast cancer.”
Mr Mac Smith said the decision to support Beyond Blue is particularly profound considering Manildra has lost several young people in the last year to suicide.
Money from the ride will also go to the Manildra community for projects at camping and caravan parks as well as retirement units.
Children at small schools en route in will also host visits from the riders who will speak to the children about the McGrath Foundation and Beyond Blue.
If you would like to donate to the ride visit msmmilling.com.au or the secure site of the Westpac donation page.
Mr Mac Smith said he would like to thank Graincorp, Manildra Group, MSM Milling, East Coast Stockfeeds, Organic Crop Protectants, Nuseed, Gow-Gates, Staminade, KFC and Ron Boulton Cycles for sponsoring the ride.
