A driver has been treated for shock after his B-double truck ran over a man apparently lying on the Newell Highway near Dubbo this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 2am on Sunday, after the driver called to say he’d run over a man lying in the middle of the southbound lane.
Police say a man, as yet unidentified, sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene.
The 46-year-old driver from Queensland was treated at the scene for shock before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police are continuing to investigate the identity of the deceased.
The section of the highway where the incident occurred does not have street lighting.
