The first charge was using a carriage service to access child pornography and the second was to produce, disseminate or possess child abuse material.
The man was removed from the classroom in Orange late last year after police found he had downloaded pornographic child abuse images onto his computer at his home in Cowra.
The man will appear in Orange Local Court on August 18 for sentencing and until then is expected to adhere to strict bail conditions.
As part of the man’s bail conditions he must report to Cowra police every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and is not allowed to come in contact with children under the age of 16 in the course of his employment or any charity work he carries out.
The man first accessed child pornography on his home computer in Cowra on February 2 last year.
He also accessed child abuse material via the internet in an incident police say occurred on the same computer in Cowra on July 24.
The teacher’s other bail conditions stipulate the man is to have no internet connection at home and can only access the internet for specific employment purposes.
The man was charged as the result of an investigation by the Child Exploitation Internet Unit, a unit within the NSW Police State Crime Command Sex Crimes Squad.
