A MAN has died and another is in Westmead Hospital with serious injuries after a motorcycle hit a horse near Lyndhurst on Tuesday night.

A 56-year-old male died when his motorcycle - travelling east on the Mid Western Highway - hit the unaccompanied horse around 8.15pm.
His 29-year-old male passenger was taken to Blayney Hospital before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital with serious head injuries.
Police from Chifley LAC are investigating the incident, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
The horse had to be euthanised due to extreme injuries.
