Think of that gem of a dish you knock out to impress at a dinner party or that gourmet sensation you spend Sunday’s whipping up to indulge on as the weekend winds down.
But how does your recipe stack up?
Dubbed My Recipe Rules and with local wine and produce the key, the Central Western Daily is producing a magazine that’ll feature the best 24 recipes hand picked by a select group of renowned judges and chefs.
The magazine will then be handed out at FOOD Week on April 6.
Getting the gourmet ball rolling, Kate Jones Catering owner Kate Jones is offering up her One Nineteen Melting Moments recipe.
After over eight successful years owning and operating the Anson Tea House and with 10 years in the food industry, Mrs Jones has chosen to continue her passion with food with her own catering business launched in 2010.
She says her favourite part about cooking good food is “eating it, of course”.
“I love it because it makes others and myself feel so good. Relaxing, enjoyable and totally satisfying comes to mind,” she said.
Mrs Jones believes the My Recipe Rules concept is the perfect way for the community to immerse itself in the brilliant local produce the Orange region has to offer.
“Absolutely. It gives people ideas and perhaps inspiration that they can do it,” she said.
“By putting some of our favourite recipes together that we can comfortably cook it gives others the confidence to do this also.”
To take part in My Recipe Rules, simply email your favourite recipe, along with a photo of the finished dish, to rochelle.monaghan@fairfaxmedia.com.au, or phone 6391 2900 for information.
