Well, the Central Western Daily is offering readers the opportunity to have their favourite recipes printed in a special magazine to be distributed at FOOD Week on April 6.
Called My Recipe Rules and sponsored by Harvey Norman, the magazine will feature the best 24 recipes submitted from our readers, which will be carefully selected by a panel of local judges and chefs.
Central Western Daily editor Tony Rhead said with the popularity of cooking shows such as My Kitchen Rules and MasterChef, this new concept gave local foodies the chance to share their wisdom in the kitchen.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a recipe for an entree, main course or sweets, or if it’s been in your family for generations, or is a dish you’ve created, we’d love to hear all about them,” he said.
“The only thing that the recipe must include is the use of local produce and we’d also love people to submit a photo with their recipe.
“We’re hoping that having a recipe printed and shared with thousands of people at FOOD Week will ensure we get some great cooking ideas to share with the community.”
Orange Country Women’s Association member Roslyn Bensch has given us her favourite recipe to help promote My Recipe Rules, a delicious Dutch ginger slice.
You can find everything you need to make this delicious desert above.
My Recipe Rules will be sold for a gold coin donation at FOOD Week on April 6. All money raised from the sale of the magazine would be donated to charity, Mr Rhead said.
To take part in My Recipe Rules, simply email your favourite recipe, along with a photo of the finished dish, to rochelle.monaghan@fairfaxmedia.com.au, or phone 6391 2900 for information.
Mrs Monaghan will also be at this Saturday’s farmers’ market providing information about My Recipe Rules.
