The siblings had just finished swimming lessons at the Orange Aquatic Centre when they stopped in at the North Orange Shopping Centre with mum Mellisa Clayton on Tuesday.
The family happened to pull up just minutes after the afternoon's torrential rain had stopped.
The downpour left a large lake at the southern end of the centre's car park.
And the brother and sister combination didn't miss their chance to apply some of the lessons they had earlier absorbed, wading into the depths with glee.
As motorists nervously avoided that end of the car park, the duo took advantage of the temporary pool formed from the 23 millilitres of rain the Bureau of Meteorology reports bucketed down on the city.
