A 24-year-old man has died after a semi-trailer travelling west on the Mid Western Highway hit a tree at around 6.15am on Friday morning.

The truck was travelling towards Cowra when it left the road approximately 13 and a half kilometres from Cowra near the Westville Road intersection and collided with a tree.
The sole occupant and driver died at the scene.
The road was closed for a short time while police carried out their inquiries.
Police Inspector Gerard Powell said there was no other vehicle involved and that fatigue may have been a factor.
A crime scene was established at the scene, which will be examined by forensic specialists and detectives.
A brief will be prepared for the coroner.
