The two combatants, Kennards Thunder Chuckers and the Wongarbon Coke Bottles, have been inseparable all season and boast the two most explosive line-ups in Orange.
The two teams have clashed four times thus far this season - three times in the season proper, and once in the major semi-final a fortnight ago.
After two draws and a thumping 5-nil win, the Thunder Chuckers entered the finals as minor premiers, and heavy favourites. Wongarbon Coke Bottles provided an upset though, winning the major semi-final 5-4 and earning direct passage to the grand final.
The Thunder Chuckers were left to face Scott Board Concreting in the penultimate game, which they won 7-6.
Thunder Chuckers link Kurt Moore, who will play alongside his younger brother Ryan tonight, suggested the semi-final loss was the kick-start his team needed.
“We were a bit slow that night,” Moore said.
“But in saying that they really turned it on that night.”
Despite boasting some of the competition’s most dangerous attacking players Moore down-played his team’s ability, preferring to focus on his opposition.
“They’re very, very quick. They have pace all over the paddock which we lack a bit,” Moore explained.
“With Tony Pellow, the two younger Gibbs-O’Neills, Keegan [Harding] and Toby [Westcott] as examples, their danger in attack is obvious. They’re a good side, we’re just hoping our game plan pays off on the night.
“We’ll just look to stick to our structures, and really work on defence. I think it’ll come down to who defends better.”
In tonight’s other grand finals, Dock play the Parkview Predators in men’s division one (B), Sweet Maryjanes and Sexual Chocolate clash in men’s two, Black Thunder takes on Fryerz in men’s three, Glady Giants play The Boys in men’s four, Super Best Friends 2 are out to beat Unleashed in men’s five and 10 and a half men play Mash Tun in men’s six. Sportspower play Jungle Cats, The Funky Town Monkey Pimps take on Havaianas, BDB clashes with The Fence Fiters and Hill Street Hoods play Cargo Shearing in women’s one, two, three and four respectively.
