UPDATE: MONDAY, 11.15AM:
POLICE have revealed the name of the man at the centre of a search operation underway at Lake Canobolas.
Arvid Stenzel, a 19-year-old German national, went missing in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police have called in dive crews and search dogs in an effort to locate Stenzel.
They are also warning nearby property owners to keep an eye out for the man, as well as widening their search to paddocks surrounding the lake precinct.
Until the divers arrive today their search efforts will focus on dry land.
UPDATE: MONDAY, 7AM:
FRIENDS of the 19-year-old man missing at Lake Canobolas alerted police about his absence at 4.15pm on Sunday after their searches failed to locate him.
Officers from Canobolas Local Area Command coordinated a ground and air search which involved local SES and RFS volunteers.
They also conducted a search of the lake using boats from the police and SES.
The search was suspended at 12am Monday and resumed at first light n Monday morning.
SUNDAY, 9PM:
POLICE are looking for a 19-year-old German national who went missing at Lake Canobolas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police have set up a command post at the site and are working with the State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service crews to find the man.
Police divers have also been called in to search the lake.
According to police the man, who was camping at the lake, had been drinking with friends until his disappearance.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Yonneka Hill confirmed she had contacted his family in Germany via the Australian consulate to inform them of the situation.
