AS expected, Orange’s female triathletes ran riot at the Orange leg of the Central West Inter-Club Triathlon Series, at Lake Canobolas yesterday.
In the female inter-club (400m swim, 20km bike and 4km run) overall results, Orange made up nine of the top 10 past the post, including four of the top five.

Richards and Hobson also won their respective age categories as well, women’s 30-39 and 0-19.

The Piranha men didn’t fair quite as well as their female counterparts, with Tim Ritchie the best placed in the overall standings, finishing fifth. Ritchie was 4.58 behind eventual winner, Bathurst’s Nicholas North.
Ritchie also won his men’s 40-49 category, racing in 1.01.03.

Phil Tudor finished ninth overall and second in his 40-49 category, with 1.02.25.
A huge 402 point score from Orange pushes the Piranhas further into the lead in the series.
Orange now sits on 1113, a massive 722 points in front of Dubbo (391), in second.
Mudgee drops down to third after yesterdays meet, on 360, followed by Bathurst (328) and Cowra (185).
Piranhas president Steve Martin said the participation, from most clubs was a real highlight.
“We had 144 starters in the longer race all up,” he said.
“Dubbo had a good turnout, as did Bathurst. Mudgee and Cowra were a bit lower than normal but it happens.”
Martin commended the Piranha women.
“They performed really well again,” he said.
