More senior CYMS players will come on board this year to coach the club’s junior sides.
Last year’s Group 10 player of the grand final, Ben McAlpine, will mentor the under 9s, while CYMS’ premier league captain-coach Mick Sullivan will join Greg Charnock is coaching the under 16s.
First grader Cameron Jones will coach the under 14s with Anthony Jones, and the under 15s will be mentored by premiership winners Riley Law and Sam Hill.
Others who will coach CYMS junior sides are Zac Rue (under 6s), Phil Mooney and Mitch Bollinger (under 7s), Dave Dong (under 8s), Darren Wooding (under 10s), Andrew Livingstone (under 11s), Scott Campbell (under 12s), and Steve Maguire, Craig Piper and Martyn Norris (under 13s).
Any junior league players who would like a chance to work with these coaches can attend the Orange CYMS Junior sign on day today.
It will be held at Norton Park from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, and there will be a sausage sizzle and some senior players will be running some coaching drills.
Last year there were 215 junior players and club members hope this will increase in 2014.
Another sign on day will be held for those who cannot attend today’s session.
More information will be available on the club’s Facebook page next week at www.facebook.com/cymsjrlfc.orange.
This year’s committee includes Andrew Livingstone (president and coaches coordinator), Mandy Moore (secretary and registrar), Rod Moore (treasurer), Cameron Jones (referee coordinator) and Krissie Baker (events coordinator).
The club will have all new playing jerseys this season thanks to their sponsors.
