HOT 100: Rebecca wins in photo finish

THERE was stunned silence on the phone when fashionista Rebecca Wignall was informed she had won the 2014 Orange picnic races McDonald’s Hot 100 by just nine votes.

The competition attracted a massive 41,219 votes in just nine days.

Second in the competition was Zara Crawford with Anastasia Benton placed third.

Number seven entrant Mrs Wignall won a $400 pre-paid credit card courtesy of Orange McDonald’s.

“I’m just overwhelmed, I can’t believe it,” a stunned Mrs Wignall said.

Mrs Wignall wore a classic black and white strapless, knee-length polka dot dress with matching shoes and a black fascinator.

She was one of 100 people who had their photo taken at Orange picnic races on January 18.


The Hot 100 gallery was loaded onto where 13,838 votes were cast in a week to determine the Hot 20.

Once the Hot 20 was narrowed down this is where the competition really hotted up with 27,381 votes cast in three days.

“I was really surprised I got in the Hot 20,” she said.

Of the Hot 20 votes cast Mrs Wignall scored 5393 votes (19.69 per cent) while number 11 Zara Crawford was just nine votes behind with 5384 votes (19.66 per cent).

In third place was number 19 Anastasia Benton, who landed 3584 votes (13.08 per cent).

Mother of three Mrs Wignall said she and husband Leigh are planning a holiday soon and the prizemoney will be a great help.

“We don’t go away very often so this is great,” she said.
