A MAN is in hospital after he was punched in the head and stomach during an argument in Parkes on Sunday night.

About 10.30pm two men were drinking separately at a hotel on May Street when they left the hotel and became involved in an argument.
A 23-year-old was punched in the head and stomach, before falling and hitting his head on the ground.
His attacker fled the scene.
The 23-year-old was treated by paramedics and taken to Parkes District Hospital before being transferred to Orange Hospital.
He was then taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition and is being treated for a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
Police from Lachlan Local Area Command are continuing investigations into the assault and are yet to speak to the injured man.
The man is the second in the central west to land in hospital from a punch to the head this weekend.
In Orange a man was the victim of an alleged attack at a house party on Saturday night.
He was also transferred to Westmead Hospital for treatment to head injuries.
