Team of the century hooker Noel Kelly, 300-game man and international Jeff Gerard as well as former Australian rugby league representatives Darren Britt, Ken Thornett, Ron Hilditch and John Peard will all participate in the event.
New South Wales and Canterbury Bulldogs legend Peter Mortimer will also be in attendance.
Now in its third year, organiser Badger Babbage said the golf day has been a huge success for the Men of League foundation, a charity that helps members of the extended rugby league community who’ve fallen on hard times.
“They’re very good days,” Babbage said.
“It’s all for charity. It’s very well supported by our sponsors.”
The golf day including lunch is $50 with bookings able to be made at 6362 4072.
The dinner is $40 with bookings to be made at 6362 3466.
The texas shootout event will begin at 12.30pm at Duntryleague, with organisers running a number of novelty holes and four nearest the pins on the second shot on par fours.
It’s a big weekend of Men of League celebrations, with a dinner celebrating 100 years of rugby league in Bathurst being held at Bathurst Panthers on February 1, with the ABC’s Dave Morrow and Warren Ryan expected to attend.
A book being written by Ian Heads about the winning 1974 Western Division Amco Cup side will also be available.
Later in February the Men of League will also be supported by the Hogs for the Homeless ride, with the Brad Fittler-led event stopping in Orange on February 27 to help raise money for the foundation.
