Weatherzone has predicted a top of 33 degrees with hot, gusty and dry winds.
During a total fire ban no fire may be lit in the open. This includes incinerators and barbecues that burn solid fuel such as wood or charcoal.
All fire permits are suspended until midnight Friday.
NSW Rural Fire Service Canobolas Zone membership services co-ordinator Nils Waite warns residents not to use equipment that could cause sparks.
“Put off any outdoor activities that involve any mowing, slashing or cropping,” he said.
Other central west councils with a severe fire danger rating and total fire ban in place include Bathurst, Blayney, Cowra, Lithgow, Mid Western Regional and Oberon.
