ORANGE has outperformed Bathurst and Dubbo in this year's 2013 Higher School Certificate Honour Roll.

In Orange 85 students achieved a score of 90 or above in a HSC subject, while Bathurst and Dubbo has 57 and 47 students respectively.
Between them students from Orange High School, Kinross Wolaroi School (KWS), James Sheahan Catholic High School (JSCHS) and Orange Christian School received a band six (the highest band) result in 173 subjects.
These four schools also jumped up in the rankings of the top schools in the country, with Orange High School moving from number 500 in 2012 to 301 this year.
JSCHS moved up 103 places from 325 in 2012 to 222 this year.
Orange Christian School moved from 397 to 374, while KWS went from 136 to 129.
Orange High School principal David Lloyd said it was "nice to see students rewarded for their efforts".
"We've had three times the number of band six results than last year," he said.
JSCHS principal Mark Pauschmann said a number of the school's students received a "great result".
"Our focus at the school it to allow learning to happen and that it can only happen if students put the effort in."
A number of Orange students received a mention in the All-round Achievers List for recording scores of 90 and above in 10 or more units in the HSC.
These students included JSCHS's Makaela Bowman and Madeleine Whalan, KWS's Annabelle Carter and Rebekah Kwa, and Orange High School's Alexandra Clarke.
Canobolas Rural Technology High School did not achieve any results in the 2013 HSC Honour Roll.
