Club president Allyson Tilston said club members were thrilled new life would be breathed into the markets.
“Kmart has been wonderful to us over the years, but this move now is about having a higher visibility, which will attract more people to the markets,” she said.
“Robertson Park, being in the centre of town, is an ideal place and our members are very excited.
“Our numbers were dropping at the undercover market and it was getting harder and harder to motivate our members. We really were wondering how we were going to keep on raising money.”
Ms Tilston said for many years the undercover markets enjoyed great success, but the growing trend of outdoor markets saw their market suffer.
Traditionally the markets have always had to move from undercover car park at this time of the year, due to the pressures of parking during the festive season.
“But now we have had approval from council and the arrangement is permanent, we are absolutely thrilled,” Ms Tilston said.
She said the club was very proud of money it had been able to raise for local causes since the markets began.
If you would like to register to host a market stall call Ms Tilston on 0418 656 126.
The cost is $30, which includes public liability insurance.
Yesterday people were quick to snap up their Christmas trees, with only one remaining tree left by 9.30am.
The markets will be on again next Sunday but the club will take a break on December 29 and January 5.
