The crash occurred about 7pm on Thursday night as the man tried to negotiate the roundabout on the corner of Byng and Willliam streets.
Canobolas Local Area Command Inspector Peter Atkins said the man was driving west along Byng Street when he clipped the side of the roundabout and lost control of his vehicle, hitting the support beam of the nearby cafe and a telegraph pole.
The cafe’s awning was also damaged.
Inspector Atkins said State Emergency Service volunteers and Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters attended and paramedics treated the driver at the scene, although he did not require hospitalisation.
“No charges were laid, no infringement notices were issued and alcohol was not a factor,” he said.
Traffic was diverted from the scene for around two hours while the building was stabilised.
