Mr Flowers was in a critical condition in Westmead Hospital for three weeks after an accident on an Orange building site, however earlier this week he appeared to turn the corner to recovery.
“Terry is slowly but surely on his way to recovering and will be starting his rehabilitation in the next couple of weeks,” his daughter-in-law Jane Flowers said.
Organisers of a trivia night to benefit those who have helped Mr Flowers are buoyed by the news.
Already businesses have started coming on board for the trivia night to be held next Friday night at the Orange Ex-Services’ Club, donating prizes to help raise funds.
Electrolux has donated a fridge and Domino’s Pizza has donated 70 pizzas for the night.
The trivia night includes a raffle, auction and finger food and tickets are priced at $30 per person for teams of eight.
All funds raised will be donated to Westmead Hospital and the trauma services that battled to save Mr Flowers’ life.
Tickets are available for purchase at BT Homes at unit 3/12 Elwin Drive (cash only). Alternatively you can pay via direct deposit to Orange Credit Union (BSB: 802129, account number 100079432, account name Flowers Trivia Night).
One of Mr Flowers’ arms was severed and he sustained multiple injuries when a concrete boom collapsed on him.
