Philip Boncardo is representing Joshua Cooper, 25, and Michael Madden is acting for Adrian John Bunn, 23, who are charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

The men are alleged to have confronted a club employee at closing time on Sunday, April 7.

With the case adjourned to January next year it was Mr Boncardo who was the first to  raise his concerns with Magistrate Terry Lucas over delays in finalising the brief for the case.

“This matter has been adjourned three times,” he said.

The case, which is being handled by the   Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), cannot move forward until defence lawyers have been served with a brief of evidence, with input from the Armed Robbery Squad.

Mr Madden was the next to voice his concerns.

“I echo the comments of Mr Bondardo and foreshadow that I will be making a bail application for my client next week,” he said.

Mr Bunn was out on bail, however, it was revoked when he allegedly assaulted a person not involved in the case.

He has been behind bars for several weeks.

In response to the solicitors’ comments,  Michael Fahy from the DPP said the brief was extensive.

Cooper and Bunn’s co-accused Benjamin Woods also had his court date adjourned to January next year, along with Kelly Gerken the fourth person arrested by police for an alleged involvement in the robbery.

Woods is charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, while Gerken is accused of being an accessory after the robbery.

Woods is now also facing another set of charges, unrelated to the Wentworth robbery, and these charges will also be addressed in January.
