THREE men have been charged over a triple stabbing near Lithgow yesterday.
About 6.30pm, a 29-year-old man was walking along Carey Avenue at Wallerawang, north of Lithgow, when he was attacked by three men.
During the incident the man was stabbed three times in the leg.
His friend came to his aid when he was also allegedly attacked by the group, pushed to the ground and stabbed in the back.
Another man attempted to intervene in the assault when he was allegedly set upon by the group and also stabbed in the back.
The trio then fled the scene but were arrested by police in Junction Street and taken to Lithgow Police Station.
An 18-year-old man was charged with three counts of reckless wounding in company, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and affray and refused bail to appear in Lithgow Local Court today.
An 18-year-old man and 23-year-old man were charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear in Lithgow Local Court on Thursday November 21.
Two men, aged 25 and 29, were treated at the scene by paramedics and airlifted to Westmead Hospital in stable conditions.
The other injured man, aged 28, was taken to Lithgow Hospital where he received treatment and was released. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
