IT may be getting into the warmer months, but rugby union will be making a one-off cameo at Endeavour Oval in November.
The HeartKids Rugby Cup and coaching clinic will be held on Saturday, November 2, with a Central West Invitational side set to go head-to-head with the Deadwood Rugby Club XV at 6pm.
The match will be part of a jam-packed day’s worth of rugby, with the calibre of player at the clinic boasting either NSW or Australian honours.
Organiser Mardi Aplin said the day is already shaping up as a rugby spectacular, with kids and rugby fans alike set to flood Endeavour Oval.
But Aplin said it’d be great to see more Orange kids on the day.
“It’s a real central west feel at the moment,” she said.
“We’ve got kids from Nyngan, Wellington, Dubbo, Lithgow, Bathurst and Parkes ... but there’s only about five from Orange coming up at the moment.”
Kids aged between five and 14 are eligible for the coaching clinic, with registrations to be made at email@example.com
The cost of the clinic is $40.
Funds raised through the HeartKids Rugby Cup go towards helping the HeartKids foundation, with all money raised to stay in the central west for families suffering from childhood heart disease.
“It’s exactly what we’ve been doing with the netball,” Aplin continued.
“With the HeartKids stuff, my aim is to be able to do this with all sports and bring a few big wigs out to country areas so our kids can be exposed to these kinds of people as well.”
