THE ACT Comets bowling attack has a distinct Orange District Cricket Association feel to it in 2013-14.
Josh Bennett and Mick Delaney have been announced as part of the Comets squad ahead of the Toyota Futures League season, set to begin the first weekend of November.
Delaney, a former CYMS and South Australian Redbacks quick, and Bennett, last year’s NSW Country cricketer of the year and a former Orange City tearaway, are just two fresh faces in a largely new-look ACT 13-man squad.
Wests/UC pair Matthew Condon and Ethan Bartlett as well as Newcastle fast bowler Greg West are the three other new additions to the squad.
Delaney, 25, has relocated back to Canberra to take up the position of captain-coach at the Weston Creek Molonglo Cricket Club.
He represented the ACT Comets and ACT under 19 side before moving to South Australia to take up a professional contract in 2010-11.
A former Newcastle fast bowler, Bennett has relocated to the ACT after impressing in the final round of last year’s Futures League match.
The ACT Comets’ Toyota Futures League season begins on the road against Tasmania on November 7 in Hobart.
