TWO people caught drink- driving by police within the city boundaries on Saturday night and early Sunday morning will have to front Orange Court next month.
A 43-year-old man allegedly paid no notice when police found him intoxicated on Saturday night and drove him home.
Just hours later when a vehicle was pulled over in the city at 6.30am yesterday morning and the driver breathalysed, it was found to be the same man.
After returning a positive roadside test the man was taken back to Orange police station where he underwent a second breath test and blew a reading in the high range.
He was charged and released.
On Saturday night police and paramedics were called to a motor vehicle accident in the subdivision opposite the gates of Wentworth Golf Club.
A 17-year-old P-plate driver with a passenger on board had driven into a parked car.
When emergency services workers arrived the girl was sobbing hysterically but was otherwise uninjured and her passenger also escaped any injury.
She was also taken back to Orange police station where she failed a breathalyser test.
Orange police were out in force at the weekend and yesterday police were breathalysing drivers in several locations on the outskirts of the city including Lucknow.
Acting Inspector Yonneka Hill of said with the final school term for 2013 starting today, drivers are reminded that 40km/h speed limits are back in place in school zone areas.
No details of speeding offences recorded at the weekend were available from police yesterday.
