THE 20-year-old driver of a vehicle which crashed into the front yard of a house in Byng Street around 6am yesterday morning was tracked down by police shortly after leaving the scene of the accident.
Police allege the man was driving north along Woodward Street when he turned into Byng Street and lost control of the Holden Commodore he was driving when he turned the corner, and it crashed through the front fence of a house.
When police arrived they carried out a quick search of the area and found the man walking along Woodward Street.
The man was already on bail waiting to appear in Orange Local Court on other charges, and so police revoked his bail.
Late yesterday he was waiting to appear in Orange Local Court before Magistrate Terry Lucas after being interviewed by a legal aid solicitor.
The man has been charged with driving unlicensed, negligent driving, refusing to take a breath test as well as breach of bail.
Light rain was falling in Orange at the time of the crash.
