A 20-year-old man who allegedly fabricated a story about being robbed while he was delivering pizzas last Friday night has been arrested and charged by Orange police.
Police appealed for public assistance following the reported robbery, when the driver claimed he had driven to a property on Canobolas Road and knocked on the door but there was no answer. He told police that when he returned to his vehicle he was accosted by a robber who demanded the pizzas he was carrying and his cash float.
However, following an investigation, police charged the pizza delivery driver with making false representations resulting in a police investigation and steal property as a clerk or servant.
He has been granted conditional bail to appear in Orange Local Court in November.
