Police surrounded the building just after 3pm after receiving information that someone was inside.
Just after 3.30pm five young people - three males and two females were walked out of the hospital and put into police cars.
They are at Orange Police Station being cautioned by police and are expected to be driven home by police after being released as first-time young offenders.
The trespassing incident comes just hours after a NSW Health Infrastructure spokesman said it was in consultation with Orange City Council and would let the public know when a decision on the future of the building was made, in response to a question about the future of the site by a Central Western Daily journalist.
Earlier this month, councillor Glenn Taylor discovered a fence next to the former nurses quarters had collapsed into the street and called for action to clean up the site.
