Gypsy Ball marks opening of new school hall

MILLTHORPE Public School’s new hall was opened in style with a Gypsy Ball recently.

Attended by a happy throng of Millthorpians, the evening featured the band Arabesk whose musicians are well-known to the school community.

The hall was the last Building the Education Revolution hall project to start and the last to finish in the state.

Principal Jo Jackett paid tribute and made a presentation to Peter Archer and Graeme Erskine for managing a quick and quality job with as little disruption to school life as possible.

MILLTHORPE Bowling/Community Club has recently completed its latest round of sponsorships totalling around $4000 to local community causes and sporting groups.

Recipients included Millthorpe junior girls soccer, the Old Errowanbang Shearing Shed project and ongoing major sponsorship of the Millthorpe Tigers senior club.

The club takes great pride in being able to support and assist Millthorpe and encourages everyone to take advantage of the new refurbishments and kitchen facilities for parties, bowls days and other events so that some of the funds can be returned to the community.
