SOME of the top gymnasts in Australia were on show at the Gymnastics NSW Country Championships in Orange yesterday.
In rhythmic gymnastics, the top level athletes were out in force, doing their rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon routines.
The Queanbeayan YMCA continued to deliver great results, with four all round champions.
Kayla Murray finished on top in level eight, Anna Vladimirov was the best in level nine, Malika Ismailova took out level six junior and Porsche Foster won level five junior.
The women’s artistic gymnastics competition continued with girls on the floor, vault, beam and uneven bars.
Tamworth gymnasts had a great day, winning all three level one all events.
Maisie Wilde won the level one junior crown, Sapphire Kuczer took out the intermediate title and Marni Evans celebrated victory in the senior division.
Tamworth also on the level three team event.
There is another full day of competition today at the Orange PCYC.
The men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics will have all the attention, with competition starting at 7.20am.
Team Gym will be on from 6.30pm, and aerobics will make its debut at the Country Championships tonight, with competition starting at 6.30pm.
The Masters Skill Challenge will also attract plenty of attention from 6.30pm.
Tomorrow, the women’s artistic gymnastics will go through it’s final events from 7.20am.
The trampoline competition will also be held tomorrow from about 10am.
