BOYS have it easier than girls according to these Kinross Wolaroi School students who will have their graduation ball tomorrow night.
Students Simon Douch, Diya Alsultani, Hugh Reed and Connor Mendham said forget the spray tans, hairdressers and make-up, they will be ready in under 30 minutes.
Simon and Connor decided to hire a suit for their big night, Diya will wear his own, but Hugh has spent months making his.
Hugh, a textiles and design student, said he found fabric and decided to make something unique that nobody else would have.
“I bought the fabric a while ago and it was just cheaper than getting someone else to do it,” he said.
“The people [he bought it from] said I couldn’t do it, so I decided it was a challenge.”
Simon said his biggest decision leading up to the grad had been to decide between a tie and a bow tie.
“I’m going to go with the bow tie, apparently it’s a bit more traditional,” he said.
Connor said getting ready for boys is simple and quick compared to girls.
“It’s shower and a suit and you’re ready,” he said.
Diya joked it would take him a little longer than the other boys to get ready.
“It’ll take me half an hour just for my hair, it’s got to be perfect,” he said.
With today their last day of high school, the boys already have plans for next year.
Hugh will head to Sydney to study a Bachelor of Design, majoring in fashion design, at Raffles College of Design.
Simon will go south to the University of Wollongong to study law and journalism, while Diya will study dentistry at Charles Sturt University in Orange.
Connor said he will have the most fun as he looks forward to a gap year.
