MOLONG’S great community spirit will be on display at their upcoming show on Sunday, according to the show society.
The 149th annual Molong Show will feature family favourites including stalls, rides, sideshow alley, food and drinks.
Molong Show Society secretary Lisa Garlick said the day promised to be a wonderful family event.
“It’s very family friendly and there’s a lot to see,” she said.
“It’s a calm, relaxed atmosphere.”
Miss Garlick said the annual show was well supported by the community by their attendance and entries in show competitions.
“We don’t see much of them [usually] but in the week leading up to it the people start to bring in their entries,” she said.
Miss Garlick has put the call out for volunteers to help in the lead-up to the show.
“We need volunteers for the Saturday to get the entries up for the displays,” she said.
Entries for yard dogs, horses, cattle, sheep and pet show events will be accepted on the day.
Entries for poultry and goats must be received by tomorrow.
Pavilion entries must be received by 9.30am on Saturday.
Miss Garlick said plans were already under way for Molong Show’s 150th anniversary next year.
“We already have plenty [of plans] in the works to make a weekend of it as well as a book we are compiling about the Molong Show to commemorate,” she said.
“We wouldn’t be able to have made it this far if it wasn’t for the locals, visitors and guests that come to the show every year.
“Especially all the exhibitors, volunteers and stewards that keep it running because without everyone’s involvement, we wouldn’t have a show for Molong.”
Gate opens at 6am with events from 8am.
Admission is $20 family, adults $10, children $5 and those under five years are free.
Come along to the show at the Molong Showground, Euchareena Road, Molong.
