The Orange Indoor Tennis Academy will host the play-off round for pairs from the Central West and South West regions.

OITA’s Chris Besgrove said clubs within the regions can nominate themselves for the competition.

They then have to decide who their representatives will be for the tournament.

Orange will be represented by Daniel Wait and James Preston in tomorrow’s event.

Besgrove expects them to be ones to watch.

“The men have been a surprise packet,” Besgrove said.

“We expect them to do quite well because they’re in good form. They won the club championship last weekend, so they’ve proven they’re the best pair.”

The top two pairs from tomorrow’s play-off will qualify for the next round of games against the best pairs from the North West and North Coast regions in December.

The top two men’s pairs and top two women’s pairs from this will then go up against the Sydney qualifiers.

These games will be held in January.

The top two men and top two women from this will then play-off against the qualifiers from the Asian competition.

The Orange pairing of Carolyn Quirk and Vesna Dimitrijevic have already qualified for the next stage of the competition due to some of the women’s pairs having to pull out.

Quirk and Dimitrijevic will next line-up in the play-offs against the North West and North Coast qualifiers in December.

The Tennis NSW event has made the competition more accessible by paying the competitors’ expenses from the next rounds onwards.

Tomorrow’s men’s games at the Orange Indoor Tennis Academy will start at 10am.
