JUST one little question can help someone who is feeling alone and disconnected feel like they are important.
Yesterday’s R U OK? Day stall at Orange City Centre aimed to provide people with the tools they needed to approach someone to ask this question.
Western NSW Local Health District Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol, Clinical Partnerships coordinator Meg Simpson said they had a lot of interest from the community during the day.
“It went fantastically, it was really good, it was a busy time,” she said.
“We encouraged people to keep in touch with other people or talk to their GP if they need.”
The stall was run by the Orange and Region Suicide Prevention Network, with many supporting agencies in attendance including care and respite services, mental health support, Aboriginal services and drug and alcohol services.
Anyone with concerns about their mental health or that of a friend or loved one should call the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
