PRIDE will be on the line at half-time in tomorrow’s Group 10 premier league grand final.
While Orange Hawks and Orange CYMS prepare for the second half of their clash at Wade Park, 10 junior players will be chasing bragging rights.
A junior relay race between Orange CYMS juniors and Bloomfield will be the half-time entertainment tomorrow.
Each club will field a five-man team with a player each from their under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14 and under 16 sides.
The relay will start with the youngest runners who will cover 40 metres, but the distances increase with each age so the under 16s will be sprinting 100 metres to finish off what should be an exciting race.
The relay was held at half-time in the 2012 centenary game between Hawks and CYMS and was popular.
This encouraged former Orange Hawks player Wayne Hill to run another relay for tomorrow’s big game.
This time the two junior clubs will be racing for the Wayne Hill Electrical Local Derby Junior Relay Shield.
Hill hopes the relay could be run at each senior derby every year, with the winners to take home the shield.
