A man has been stabbed in the back and abdomen after an argument broke out at a campsite near Orange on Friday night.
A 19-year-old man has undergone surgery at Orange hospital for his injuries.
Orange police say a group of men were camping out at the Long Point Reserve when an altercation occurred between group members.
Police have established a crime scene and remain at the reserve.
They are trying to track down the alleged offender who has fled the scene.
The men in the group did not call for help for the injured man but drove him into the accident and emergency department at the hospital.
Orange police have siezed the vehicle which was used to drive the man to hospital to conduct a forensic examination of the car.
Police are waiting to interview the injured man following his surgery and investigations are ongoing.
