ORANGE Red Cross store’s Big Cake Bake was a huge success on Saturday according to store manager Penny Kariyawasam.
Held annually, the event raises funds for the Red Cross to continue their charity work locally, nationally and internationally.
Mrs Kariyawasam said many of the store’s volunteers and friends baked for the day.
“We raised close to $1000, we were aiming for $1000 and were $50 short so we were pretty happy with that,” she said.
There were two prizes on Saturday for community members who contributed a cake to the fundraiser.
Winner of the best baked cake was Annalise Thickstone and winner of the best decorated cake was Emma Fisher.
Each winner scored a voucher at The Essential Ingredient.
“Thanks to everyone that came along, it was a very successful event,” Mrs Kariyawasam said.
