ORANGE Warriors captain Rob Forbes says his team has nothing to lose in tomorrow’s State Tenpin Bowling League final.
The Warriors will travel to Campbelltown to take on the Crocs, with the winner earning a place in the grand final.
The Orange side clawed its way into the finals and then caused an upset last week when they downed Newcastle 65-45 in the minor semi-final.
“That gives us some confidence to know we can go up against these guys and beat them at their home centres,” Forbes said of the semi-final win.
Orange has not beaten Campbelltown this season, losing 62.5-51.5 in the opening round, and 79-35 in round six at Campbelltown.
“They always put up a fight-and-a-half against us. We’ll just go there and do our best,” Forbes said.
“We’re definitely up for the challenge. We’re all bowling well. At league on Wednesday night we tore it up. We all had 230, 240, 250 games on Wednesday. We’ve just got to take that form into the weekend.”
The captain said he was impressed with the way his bowlers handled last week’s minor semi-final in Newcastle.
After almost missing out on the semi-finals, Forbes said he was thrilled with how his team had performed.
“We have nothing to lose. We’ll just go out and see what happens,” he said.
“A couple of weeks ago we didn’t expect to make the finals. To get there is great.”
Whoever wins tomorrow’s match will book a spot in the grand final against Lidcombe’s Tenpin City on September 15.
Action in tomorrow’s final at Campbelltown will start at 10am.
