The problem is, she can’t remember much of it.
“I don’t really remember much about the day at all,” Jasprizza said, knocked out in her NSW side’s clash against Queensland last Wednesday, day three of the week-long championship in Darwin.
Unfortunately, the knock resulted in the dynamic wing attack sitting out the rest of the competition.
But in the four games Jasprizza started for NSW prior to suffering concussion against Queensland, the Orange Netball Association star made quite the impression and was named in the 36-strong Aussie squad at the completion of the tournament.
The 16-year-old set herself the goal of making the national squad, but having been forced to sit and watch on as NSW went on to win bronze with a 36-22 victory over South Australia, Jasprizza wasn’t sure if she’d done enough.
Uncertainty was soon flooded with excitement.
“I didn’t really expect it,” she said recalling the moment her name was read out as part of the 2013 squad.
“I was a bit disappointed [at not being able to play again]. I would have loved to played the last couple of games but I was still a bit dizzy when I ran. I’m just so happy I was able to start in the other games.
“I thought my game got better as the competition went on.”
That sentiment was shared by her NSW coach Lenore Blades.
“I thought she’d done enough,” Blades said, believing Jasprizza stood out enough in the four games she played.
“It was too dangerous for her to go back out there and we wanted to be cautious.
“We’re just glad she’s OK.”
Blades was thrilled the Orange junior made it to the next level.
“She’s an exceptional talent,” she said. “Not just her speed, obviously she’s athletic and her ability in the 100 and the 200 metre helps the side, but her agility ... she’s got the most amazing elevation.
“She’s got what we call hang time. She’s just super at netball.”
Jasprizza will attend the national development squad camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for a week in May, while also earning a place in the NSW Institute of Sport scholarship program.
In Canberra she’ll be put through her paces by some of the Diamonds’ coaching staff.
“It’s a great opportunity with such great coaches,” Jasprizza added.
The development camp runs from May 9 to May 12.
