ORANGE residents have the rare opportunity to listen to gospel music from one of Japan’s most dedicated children’s choirs.
About 12 member from the Evergreen Kids Choir will be heading to Orange this week from Tokyo.
Former Orange resident and singer Sally Dutton spent time on exchange in Japan. She said she witnessed the high level of dedication children in Japan donate towards gospel music.
“I’ve seen how much time and effort they put into it,” she said.
“It is hours every week and it certainly shows, they are beautifully talented.”
Ms Dutton said the calibre of music produced by the children aged eight to 12 was phenomenal. She said the concert was not to be missed by anyone who has a passion for music.
“It’s temporary gospel style, it’s very lively and energetic,” she said.
Ms Dutton said her three-year-old son saw the choir and was so captivated her didn’t move for 45 minutes.
The choir will sing at the Orange Regional Conservatorium for a workshop at 10am and a concert at 7.30pm.
