Treasures come in all shapes and sizes

TOMORROW’S swap meet will attract sellers of everything from cars and motorbikes to furniture and birds, organiser George Georgiou said.

The seventh annual Southern Cross Street Cruisers Swap Meet is on tomorrow, with a huge line-up of items.

More than 1500 people attended last year’s event and Mr Georgiou expects tomorrow’s event to be just as big.

“We’ve got 150 siteholders this year ... it’s like a big market,” he said.

Mr Georgiou said the usual free overnight camping is available, with six-by-six-metre stall sites available for $20 including insurance.

Over the years there have been some unusual items up for sale at the swap meet.

“I once saw a huge sword, but you get all sorts of stuff really,” Mr Georgiou said.

“Last year we got someone with a horse sulky.”

The swap meet will be held at Orange Showground.

Gates open to the public at 5am and entry costs $2 per person.
