Police were forced to close a section of Summer Street on Friday morning after an elderly man was hit by a car while riding his mobility scooter in Lords Place.
Summer Street was closed between Lords Place and McNamara Street from around 10am, while paramedics treated the man who is believed to be in his seventies.
Paramedics said the elderly man was lucky he did not sustain serious injuries.
The man was transported to Orange hospital for further observation and was in a stable condition this afternoon.
