A VICIOUS assault on a schoolgirl while she waited for her bus at Canobolas Rural Technology High School has shocked the school community and family and friends of the alleged victim.
Police say a 14-year-old student at the same school punched the victim in the head, then kneed the victim in the head as she was reeling from the impact of the punch.
"The victim was also struck while she was on the ground," according to Inspector Peter Atkins of Orange Police.
The 15-year-old victim who is being treated in Orange hospital for her injuries, has posted updates on social media saying she will be traumatised for years to come.
"My heart goes out to everyone who has been brutally beaten or bullied like me," the alleged victim said.
"I don't deserve this and I'm never going to be the same after this," she posted on social media.
Police have arrested and charged the 14-year-old with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and she will face court next month.
They are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to contact Orange Police or Crimestoppers.
