Just Us prove too strong in decider

JUST Us have made it four Orange and District Softball Association crowns in a row.

Just Us toppled long-time rivals Pink Panthers 8-4 in Saturday’s open grand final.

Just Us pitcher Monique Faul said it was a great game and she was excited for her team to come away with another title.

“It was a good competitive game,” Faul said.

Just Us took a 5-0 lead after the third innings before Pink Panthers fought back with some good batting.

But the three-time defending champions showed their class to pull away again and take the win.

Faul said the entire side batted well.

She was also excited about her form with the bat which helped her to get home three out of the four times.

Faul admitted Pink Panthers were closing the gap on Just Us each year with young pitcher Mick Heycox boosting the side.

So, what does a team do after they’ve won four consecutive titles?

“We’re going for five next year,” Faul smiled.
